SJYOU Give Together 4 Healing

Today marks the University’s Inaugural Founders Week Giving Day bringing every area of the University together, in the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul – a lifelong comforter to the suffering and deprived, who brought about change so that all may come to know and be moved by compassion, humility, and generosity. We honor this Founding “Father”, by dedicating this first of many University Giving Days to the theme of “healing… of mind, body and spirit”, the foundation of the Vincentian mission.

Today, you can make a gift to any area of the University ---whether it is someplace you have given to before, to a new area, or to one of our campaign needs running today, you will be counted towards this very special time in the history of St. John’s, as we continue to work towards healing in our world, in our communities, in our homes, and within ourselves.

If you decide to give to the University’s main campaign, centered on the University’s Most Needed Priorities, you will be helping the University to fund its highest need areas. This fund increases the ability to respond quickly in time of crises or when situations change, while making it easier to innovate or focus on an immediate need. While the pandemic has been a challenge, this fund allowed the University the flexibility to adapt and respond quickly. To provide financial, scholarship and program assistance in an expeditious manner is invaluable. This fund has helped to achieve the mission with greater effectiveness.

On this inaugural University Giving Day Honoring our Founding Mission and Missionary, St. Vincent de Paul, we reached our University-wide goal and smashed expectations! Thanks to ALL of you (our alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students), over 1,400 donations were received, and more are still coming in. Working together we raised over $882,000 to fund almost every area of the University to continue our mission.

Thank you for sharing your generous philanthropy with St. John’s University and for helping us to continue in the footsteps of St. Vincent de Paul. There is so much we can accomplish together!
