Challenges are a great way to show your support. Be the first!
As Dean of St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, I’m reaching out to you today to invest in the transformative science education our students receive by investing in our laboratories. The excellence of the teaching and learning within our science program should only be surpassed by the state-of-the-art facilities in which that learning happens. Your contribution to our science labs helps us attract and retain the best students and elevates their potential with facilities that will inspire them toward new discoveries in the future. I believe St. John’s alums are and will continue to be among those finding cures for diseases, developing life-saving medications, exploring alternative energy sources, as well as healing and consoling our community. This Founders Week, we are reminded of our Vincentian and Catholic mission to be the healers our world so desperately needs. St. John’s is investing heavily in the future of health science education; your contribution accelerates that progress by supporting our Biology, Chemistry and Physics programs, which serve students across the University. Our future leaders in the sciences will have had the benefit of the best our science programs can offer, thanks to you, our alumni and alumnae. The cost for upgrading a lab is around $1.5 million and I am confident we can reach that goal with your support. In the words of St. Louise De Marillac, “Arise each morning with new courage to serve God and the sick well.” (Spiritual Writings 225)
