Phyllis Bell 2k20 BHM Scholarship

This campaign ended on March 01, 2020, but you can still make a gift to St. John's University by clicking here!

"The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do." - Kobe Bryant

As we continue to come together and pray for all the lives lost and families affected, we are using this platform to encourage others to continue his legacy in whichever way you see fit in your life. With your donation of $8, $24, $41, etc., you are giving an opportunity to a current student to fulfill their dreams and make a difference.

What started off as Negro History Week in 1926 by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, is now an annual month long celebration. During Black History Month, there is a special emphasis on family, education, work ethic, individual responsibility, and entrepreneurship.

Adding to history, in 2002 the Phyllis C. Bell '75C Scholarship was created, in honor of the founder of the St. John’s University Black Alumni Association. Throughout the month, we are asking St. John's alumni and friends to make a gift in support of our students as they strive for academic achievement and continue serving as leaders on their path to becoming tomorrow's innovators.

The campaign will run from February 1, 2020 - February 29, 2020.

We also invite members attending our Black History Month Bus Trip to DC to utilize this campaign to submit donations.
