STUDENTS ON THE FRONTLINES: URGENT NEED FOR PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Students from the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences' many healthcare programs are participating in one of the most exciting aspects of their educational journey – hands-on learning experiences at regional hospitals and healthcare facilities. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has presented the College with a unique and unprecedented challenge which is to provide each of the 725 students who will be serving on the frontlines over the course of the spring semester with a daily supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) - a total cost of approximately $175,000.
With great urgency we are asking alumni and friends to consider “adopting” one or more students and ensuring their health and safety by making a meaningful gift to support the purchase of PPE. In so doing, you will help to bridge the gap between budgetary limitations and students ability to purchase their own PPE – of note, 43 percent of 2019 CPHS freshmen were considered Pell-eligible/very high need.
Please consider making your gift today, thereby enabling the next generation of health care providers to continue on their chosen path and carry out the St. John’s University mission to serve those in need.
Thank you so much for your generosity.

As a special thank you for helping to protect our students, the College will send you a CPHS mask. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipping. (masks are not medical grade)
