Solly Walker, was a trailblazing St. John’s basketball player. As the University’s first African-American player, from 1951-54, Walker led the freshman team to the University’s first of two Final Four NCAA championship game appearances in program history. He turned down a professional basketball career to become a teacher and principal. Please honor his legacy of service!
