About
What started off as Negro History Week in 1926 by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, is now an annual month long celebration. During Black History Month, there is a special emphasis on family, education, work ethic, individual responsibility, and entrepreneurship.
Adding to history, in 2002 the Phyllis C. Bell '75C Scholarship was created, in honor of the founder of the St. John’s University Black Alumni Association. Now, we are asking St. John's alumni and friends to make a gift in support of our students as they strive for academic achievement and continue serving as leaders on their path to becoming tomorrow's innovators.
Help us show our current St.John's leaders that we believe in them by offering your support.
